And here we are, already in April 2024! Well, those interest rates have NOT come down as I would have hoped by now (I was not asking for much, but hoping we would be at 6.5% by now and ending the year at 6% at most). But, the Feds decided to go for a total of 3 rate cuts this year and none right now, so... here we are stuck at 7%.
Now, interest rates posted are for the highest and best qualified-- which depends on not only your credit, but income, type of job and other factors. I am self employed, being a real estate agent. Therefore, I will always have that be a factor when getting a loan. So when you see these rates posted, keep that in mind. It's not necessarily the rate you will get, but these are good indicators to follow to keep track of the market.
Conventional Home Loans:
6.750% as of 4/4/24 at Redwood Credit Union for 30yr fixed.
7.125% as of 4/1/24 at Savings Bank Mendocino County for 30yr fixed
